Cubitt & The Balmoral Boiler

Initially when it became apparent that The Royal Collections Trust held some correspondence about plumbing works at Balmoral by Thomas Cubitt & Co this was not of great interest as there didn’t appear to be anything to correlate this to.

However, there are two letters in his letter books that shed light on this and some make it at least a small vignette. Both of the letters are quite smudged but have been enhanced digitally to make them closer to readable.

There are also a mass of letters about Osborne and other projects to Colonel C B Phipps.

The comma separated numbers refer to the numbered page in the letter books I – VI in the extant series.
