Discover Tinie Tempah’s London Basement Conversion

Rap artist Tinie Tempah, 27, has allowed people to have a glimpse of his beautiful house in East London, which was once owned by the late great Alexander McQueen – complete with a large London basement conversion.

Speaking to High Snobeity, the artist said the interior was designed by world-renowned architect David Adjaye, but a lot of the original fittings and features that McQueen chose were kept in place.

“My favourite part of my house is the basement: I redesigned the interior and I exposed a brick wall inside, and added a few fun features. I wanted a den where I could entertain my friends,” he told the news source.

Currently, his basement conversion features a popcorn machine, arcade machine, punching bag, table tennis table, a projector for films and gaming, and a gym to one side that also includes a steam room.

Basement construction in London is hugely popular right now, unsurprising since it’s an excellent way of extending a property and also adding serious value to it. Information from Knights House in Knightsbridge shows that a three-bedroom penthouse with rooftop views and dining space for ten is on the market for £8.95 million.

Also a three-bed basement flat that has two outdoor terraces, a wine cellar and a garage is up for £13.25 million, revealing just how popular these properties actually are.
