OLBC undertook a complete architectural re-design of this large Regency villa in a London conversation area. We developed the clients’ brief to create a spacious family home whilst returning many elements of original period charm to the heritage building, stripped out in a tired and dated refurbishment in the 1970s. The back of the house was partly removed allowing the kitchen ceiling to run at a unified level into the conservatory, which was re-built to a very high standard, flooding the ground floor with light.

A basement conversion to the lower ground floor containing a media room, nanny suite, custom wine cellar and gym was carried out as a part of the house refurbishment. Earlier ugly alterations to the staircase were reversed and the elegant flow of the original Regency staircase was returned thanks to a complex steel frame made by our craftsmen. Floor levels were assimilated throughout the house, and the whole was finished to a high interior specification with digitally controlled underfloor heating and sound system throughout.
